When you have had a test, the doctor will advise you of the follow up action following your test and how you will receive your results:

• If no further action is required, we will not contact you.
• Make a telephone appointment to see a doctor 14 days/as directed after you have had your test (if advised).

We do not feel it is appropriate for our reception staff to give out results over the telephone. However, if your test result is normal the doctor will indicate this on the computer and the receptionist will be able to tell you the result is normal.

There is no need for you to routinely contact us for your results.

Should your results require further action, you will be contacted by the surgery.

Systems are in place to ensure patients are contacted immediately regarding any results requiring urgent action.
