How are we supporting?
Working Age People
We aim to provide an range of GP and ANP appointment times beginning at 8am and continuing until 6.30pm Monday to Friday at both our surgeries.
Extended hours surgeries
We run a late surgery with both GP and Practice Nurse appointments from 6.30-8pm on Tuesdays at St Mark’s Road and 6.30-8pm at Spondon on Thursdays. These are appointments intended for working people who would otherwise find it difficult to attend surgery.
During the summer of 2016 we are piloting a Saturday morning surgery with pre-bookable GP and ANP appointments.
If you are having difficulty getting to the surgery for an appointment, you can request a telephone appointment with the GP. This includes a same day service as part of the Emergency Clinic. Please ask the Reception staff to book you into the telephone triage clinic if you need to speak to the doctor the same day.
All patients are able to register for the booking of appointments and repeat prescriptions online. Please visit the tab ‘Online Services’ on our Home Page or ask at Reception. You may also register to have access to an online summary of your medical records.
We discuss the results of the national GP survey with our Patient Participation Group (PPG) and within the team to assess how we can provide a more responsive service to our patients.
NHS Health Checks for patients aged 40-74 years
Patients in this age group are entitled to a free NHS Health Check. You should receive an invitation for this but please do feel free to request an appointment with the nurse to have this done. We can also provide health advice as part of your usual appointments.
We can provide some services to you at the surgery to avoid having to go to the hospital. These include:
- ECGs (heart tracing)
- 24 hour blood pressure monitoring
- Blood tests
- Cervical smears
- Minor surgery
Choose and book referrals
The majority of our referrals to the hospital are using the Choose and Book system to allow you to choose a time and place of appointment which is convenient to you.
